ACCA-X online courses are evolving.

As a response to your feedback, we're improving and enhancing ACCA-X courses, giving you even more flexibility and a better learning experience.

We've also updated the content of our Financial Accounting courses - to ensure you’ll be fully prepared for the updated ACCA exams (FA1, FA2 and FFA/F3).

Free courses

Changes we're making

We currently offer two free tutor-led courses - Introduction to Financial and Management Accounting and Intermediate Financial and Management Accounting.

We plan to retire these two tutor-led courses and replace it with four six-week courses. These four courses are the Introduction and Intermediate course modules separated out to form individual courses:

  • FA1 Recording Financial Transactions
  • MA1 Management Information

  • FA2 Maintaining Financial Records
  • MA2 Managing Costs and Finance

And to make the courses even more flexible, they'll be self-paced, meaning they will be open for enrolment at any time with tutor-moderated discussion boards.

We're also adding more questions in an enhanced revision section.

We hope, by making all these changes, it will give you a clear route to successful exam performance.

Key dates

  • The final sessions for the two tutor-led Introductory and Intermediate courses opens on 3 July 2017. You can enrol now for this July session.
  • Launch date for the four self-paced courses is Monday 7 August 2017 when enrolment will open.
  • The four self-paced courses will prepare you for the relevant ACCA exams up to August 2018.

What does this mean for you?

(a) Are you planning to take your exams before September 2017?
If you're already enrolled, use your current ACCA-X course.
If you are new to ACCA-X - enrol in the upcoming Introductory and Intermediate courses starting on 3 July 2017.

(b) Thinking about taking your FA1 or FA2 exams after September 2017?
Wait for the four self-paced courses which will open for enrolment on 7 August 2017. These courses will contain a change in the financial accounting standard that will be reflected in the updated ACCA exams.

(c) Are you thinking about taking your MA1 or MA2 exams after September 2017?
Use your current course if you've already enrolled.
If you're new to ACCA-X you have the option to enrol now for the two tutor-led courses opening on 3 July 2017 as the relevant course modules will prepare you for exams up to August 2018. Or you can wait for the self-paced courses. Whatever is easiest for you.

(d) Not sure if you'll take the exams?
If you are already enrolled you'll still have access to the course content for 12 months after your course start date.
If you're new to ACCA-X - enrol for the July courses and see how you get on. And if you change your mind, you're also welcome to enrol on the free self-paced courses afterwards.

Professional education courses

Updates we're making

The following courses will be updated:
  • Accountant in Business (FAB/F1)
  • Management Accounting (FMA/F2)
  • Financial Accounting (FFA/F3)

These enhancements include:

  • An additional question bank and revision section will be added. This will increase the length of the courses from 10 to 11 weeks.
  • We'll be making some enhancements to the content to improve user experience and value.
  • Financial Accounting (FFA/F3) will be updated to reflect changes to some accounting treatments to align with changes in accounting standards

These updates will be applied to courses starting on 3 July 2017 onwards.

How will the update impact you?

  • If you want to prepare for your FFA/F3 exams before September 2017, use the FFA/F3 course that started in April 2017 or the earlier course sessions.
  • The FFA/F3 course starting in July 2017 will prepare you for the updated ACCA exam from September 2017 to September 2018.
  • FAB/F1 and FMA/F2 exams will not be changing, so the earlier course sessions - and the upcoming July 2017 instance - will prepare you for the relevant exams up to September 2018.
